The Washington Review & News was founded in 2007 when a young newly elected senator from the state of Illinois announced his candidacy for The White House. That adventure led Barack Obama to the Oval Office, and Tracey Ricks Foster to the ranks of a White House Press Correspondent of The Washington Review & News.
The Washington Review & News in 2016 and beyond will be more than just a news blog that publishes White House information and releases. In response to the need of reputable and verifiable journalism that raises and supports a call to activism, The Washington Review & News will expand its coverage to include social and cultural news. Taking the blueprint established by journalist and social activist Ida B. Wells-Barnett in the late 19th century, The Washington Review & News is dedicated to publishing and reporting the news with accuracy and diligence.
